Juhi Chawla on death threats to Deepika Padukone: The threats were not right!

Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla says that the people should not flare up and give threats to the actress Deepika Padukone for starring in her upcoming movie titled ‘Padmavati‘. The director of the movie Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been mired in the controversies over the release of the movie with the several outfits that the makers have alleging distorted the historical facts in this movie.

Both the actress Deepika Padukone along with the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been given the death threats for being a  part of the movie. When asked the actress Juhi Chawla that how does she see the death threat given to another actor. On this Juhi says that she is not speaking about the movie but the threats which were given to the actress were not right. She says if you watch the same actress in another movie and you go crazy for her and love her so much she has a tremendous fan following and giving threats to her like this she does not feel that this is right.

However, there are various Rajput groups and the political leaders who have accused the director of distorting the history by filming a romantic dream sequence between the Rani Padmini and Muslim Sultan Alauddin Khilji. The makers of the movie have denied on every such report by claiming that all those reports are baseless and are untrue.

There are many historians which are evenly divided to know the fact that the Rani Padmini even excited. Juhi feels that the people should react to things with the sensitivity and should not flare up the things in anger. She feels that at the end of the day the movies are made by the director, by the team and you are playing a part in that and just for that reason she would like to say that the little bit of sensitivity is required.

Moreover, she feels that the people should have patience. They should not flare up and say things like that for a woman. She recently met the Rajmata of Jaipur and she said that what one shows in the movie are for the generations to learn from and can hence she feels that the one should be careful.

Recently, she attended a wedding in Jaipur where she met Rajmata Ji and she was talking about the films and she said something which struck her. Juhi asked that how many people have read the books which are keen to learn history, but everyone watches the movie. She feels whatever it is shown in the movies will remain in the memory of people and this is what the Rajmata said.

It does not relate to the movie ‘Padmavati’ but it is a general remark on the impact of the movies. The movie ‘Padmavati’ was slated to release on December 1st but the due to the controversy makers of the movie have deferred the release date of the movie. The new release date of the movie will be decided once the movie will get the certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification.
