Junglee-Movie-Second-Look-Pos

Vidyut Jammwal’s action-packed much-awaited movie ‘Junglee‘, opened to cheering audience, positive reviews and good word of mouth. But failed to draw a huge audience in the theatres which obviously affected its box office collections.

After completing its first week, the film has managed to collect ₹21.20 crores which far less than expected even lower than Vidyut Jammwal’s last film ‘Commando 2’.

The film merely collected ₹3.25- 3.50 crores net which is far less than expected by the makers and trade pundits. But picked up the pace on Saturday as well as on Sunday and collected ₹4.45 crores and ₹6.05 crores respectively.

Sharing the box office numbers of the movie, Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Junglee finds favor in mass circuits… Week 1 is lower than expected… Trends lower than #Commando2… Biz in Week 2 crucial for satisfactory results… Fri 3.35 cr, Sat 4.45 cr, Sun 6.05 cr, Mon 2.40 cr, Tue 1.90 cr, Wed 1.55 cr, Thu 1.50 cr. Total: ₹ 21.20 cr. India biz.”

The film did reasonable business in some circuits with Bihar being the best with ₹20 lakhs net as this circuit still remains loyal to animal films. In this circuit ‘Junglee’ on its first day earned more than what ‘Uri- The Surgical Strike’ earned in Bihar on its opening day.

Other animals based films like Maa (1976), Main Aur Mera Haathi (1981)and Doodh Ka Karz (1990) also did better business in Bihar.

The film delivered what it promised, lots of mind-blowing action scenes and breathtaking views of the jungle.

The Chuck Russell directorial showcases a special bond between a little boy and a baby elephant Bhola, which continues even after the boy comes back as a grown up after several years.
