Junglee and Notebook- 1st weekend collection

Last week two long-awaited movies were released but neither of them succeeded to make a mark at the box office. While ‘Junglee’ had a respectable first weekend and it witnessed pleasant growth, ‘Notebook’ had a very dull start and even with a little growth over the weekend, failed to make a decent number at the Box Office.

Vidyut Jammwal’s action-packed much-awaited movie ‘Junglee‘, opened to cheering audience, positive reviews and good word of mouth. The film merely collected ₹3.25- 3.50 crores net which is far less than expected by the makers and trade pundits. But picked up the pace on Saturday as well as on Sunday and collected ₹4.45 crores and ₹6.05 crores respectively. After completing its first weekend, the total earning of ‘Junglee’ has reached up to ₹13.85 crores net.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film’s box office digits and wrote, “#Junglee picks up on Day 3… Does lower than expected in its opening weekend, but Day 3 biz gives hope… Mass circuits are good/decent… Needs to maintain the pace on weekdays to cover lost ground.”

Talking about ‘Notebook’, even Salman Khan’s name also didn’t do any good for Nitin Kakkar’s romantic drama ‘Notebook‘. The unusual and unique love story poorly fared at the box office and only managed to collect ₹60-70 lakhs on its opening day.

It witnessed a slight growth on Saturday and collected ₹80 lakh. Sunday was good as well and the film managed to mint ₹1.10 crore at the Box Office. But, still the film’s total earning only reached up to ₹2.50 crores net.
