Justice League beats new Hindi releases at box office!

Hollywood movie ‘Justice League‘ has taken a top spot after fighting the battle with the Bollywood movies like ‘Aksar 2 and Vidya Balan starrer ‘Tumhari Sulu‘. However, the reports from the DC Universe says that the movie has earned a sum of Rs 5.50 crore as against Rs 2.65 crore which was earned by the movie ‘Tumhari Sulu’ and Rs 75 lakh which was earned by the movie ‘Aksar 2’ on its opening day.

The movie ‘Justice League’ has failed to surpass Thor Ragnarok’s first-day collection that went up to Rs 7.75  crore and because of this, the movie has taken the seventh place for the highest opening collections in the country. The movie was having a very little competition from the Bollywood movies and the movie has also faded the interest of the previous release movie title ‘Golmaal Again‘.

The last two days revenue of the movie ‘Justice League’ has touched to Rs 11.50 crore. While the Bollywood movie ‘Tumhari Sulu’ has earned a sum of Rs 6.90 crore despite seeing the 60 percent growth on its second day. On the other hand, the movie ‘Aksar 2’ has failed to mark at the box office collection and has ended up grossing Rs 1.65 crore.

The movie ‘Justice League’ has been playing on 1277 screens in India but that is only in English. As the movie dubbed versions could not get the Central Board clearance on time and this has really affected the movie’s business as the dubbed version in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil could have attracted more audience into the theater and thus ranking in more money.

From the past few years, we have seen that the audience has become language agnostic and they have appreciated the different genres and good content of the movie. Hollywood movie has been appreciated by the audience from the different demographics in India and because of this more movies have been dubbed into the regional language. In the last 2 – 3 years there is nearly about 40 percent of the English releases are dubbed in at least in one of the local language.

Dubbing the movie into the different Indian language has really helped the makers of the movie to reach the wider audience and this has also increased in the contribution from the dubbed versions to overall revenue collections in the Indian market. If we talk about the Hollywood movie ‘Jungle Book’, which is the highest grossing Hollywood movie in India and the movie has earned more than half of its collection from the Indian Box office and that is from the non-English versions.

The movies from the Hollywood are proving it to be the tough challenges for the Bollywood films. Like the movie ‘Thor-Ragnarok’ has continued to rule the box office collection even on its second week and the movie has collected Rs 2 crore and that is taking its total to  Rs 42 crore and with this, the movie has become one of the highest grossing movies in the week two and movies popularity  saw some new release movies like ‘Qarib Qarib Single’ and ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ biting the dust.

Last week, Indian theaters have seen more foreign movies are attracting more audience rather than the Hindi films. The movie ‘Ittefaq’ has shown a weak trend despite there was no other major Bollywood release. The movie has earned a sum of Rs 21.50 crore during the opening week and has earned Rs 75 lakh in its second week. However, the movie ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle‘ could make only 12.25 crore and ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana‘ could make only Rs 6.50 crore, respectively in its first week.
