Kalki Koechlin finally confirmed rumors about her participating in a podcast series by BBC World Service, by making a public statement where she announced that she would indeed be presenting a podcast aired by BBC which would revolve around personal real-life experiences of young people all over India. The BBC then proceeded to reaffirm that Kalki’s podcast would be titled Kalki Presents: My Indian Life, and would be a 10 episode project scheduled for its release on the 4th of August, 2018.
Kalki elaborated upon the details of her series by stating that Kalki Presents: My Indian Life would be a weekly podcast which would appeal to all youths of India, educating everyone on sensitive topics many people might be ignorant about due to the social constructs of taboo, like family conflict, sexual abuse and harassment, body shaming, and even sex education. According to Kalki, her upcoming podcast was the best way to reach out to the youth, as in today’s busy world, everyone liked to tune in and listen to podcasts once in a while, so why not make the topic more informative and educational? In this way, more teenagers would grow up listening to people talk about certain issues they might be facing, and would thus feel more comfortable in their own skin.
