After wrapping up the shoot of ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi‘, Kangana Ranaut is on a month-long break and taking Kabaddi training from National-level players Gauri Wadekar, Vishwas More and Tarak Raul.

Kangana is preparing for her next project ‘Panga’ which also stars Richa Chadha. The film will be directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, who also directed ‘Bareilly ki Barfi’. The film is based on sports Kabaddi. Though one month is not long enough to master the sports, it is long enough to know it and play it convincingly on screen. The actors have been told to give their best on screen.

The first schedule of the shooting has been completed and the left parts will be shot after the one month break. The dedicated actor Kangana has already started her physical training needed for the sports.

This will be the first sports movie for both Kangana and Richa, this is going to be the most physically challenging role for both of them.

Richa said in a statement, “It’s great to see such a great number of films like ‘Panga’ being written on female sports athletes. It’s important to have representation and such diversity being shown on-screen. To show such stories helps create awareness both for the amazing women we have in the sports arena who are doing so well internationally and it also helps increase the popularity of the sport,”.

“It’s great to see filmmakers like Ashwini Iyer Tiwari who are etching such roles for women that shows them as a figure of strength and vigor,” she added.
