Jointly produced by Kona Venkat and MVV Satyanarayana, the cast and crew of the film will be announced soon. Sanjana Reddy who made her debut with 2018’s ‘Raju Gadu’ is helming the project. Producer Kona Venkat is also the writer of the film and to his credit has written films such as Dookudu, Baadshah, Ready and late actress Sridevi’s Mom.
Karnam Malleswari won the bronze model for India at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in weightlifting. She became the first Indian woman to win a medal in Olympics.
Kona Venkat, the producer and writer of the film in an interview to a newspaper revealed his reason of telling Malleswari’s story. Kona said “This film is going to be an inspiration to the present generation. A poor girl from a remote village in Srikakulm district won the Bronze medal for India in Olympics. That is definitely a big story to narrate.”
The film will me made in Tamil and Hindi besides Telugu. It will be interesting to see who the makers will cast as Karnam Malleswari.
