The director, producer and screenwriter Vivek Agnihotri has announced that Abhishek Agarwal who has produced several Telugu films has also joined the team to produce the upcoming film The Kashmir Files.
Vivek took to his social media account to announce the news and wrote, “On this auspicious day of Dhanteras announcing my association with young & courageous @AbhishekOfficl as our partner producer for #TheKashmirFiles. The movie will be produced under Abhishek Agarwal Arts & Vivek Agnihotr Creates. Together we will uncover #KashmirUnreported”

The Kashmir Files based on the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus is expected to release on the occasion of Independence Day next year.
On the work front, Vivek Agnihotri’s last directorial The Tashkent Files was released to mostly unfavorable reviews from critics and was widely deemed to be politically motivated in light of the 2019 general elections.
The film revolved around the mysterious death of Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1966, soon after the signing of the Tashkent Agreement between India and Pakistan to end their 1965 war.
The Tashkent Files featured Naseeruddin Shah, Pallavi Joshi, Shweta Basu, Pankaj Tripathi, Mithun Chakraborty and Vinay Pathak.
