Producer Bhushan Kumar to collaborate with ‘Kedarnath‘ director, Abhishek Kapoor for a comedy-drama film ‘Sharaabi’. Guy in the Sky Pictures’ Pragya Kapoor will also produce the film with T-Series Bhushan Kumar. ‘Sharaabi’ is a comedy-drama based on the life of a dysfunctional alcoholic. More details about the film will be revealed soon. Currently, the film is in its pre-productional phase. The film is expected to have great music as it is collaborating with the music tycoon, Bhushan Kumar.
In his statement, Bhushan Kumar talked about strengthening the fantasy of Abhishek Kapoor. He said, “Over the years, Abhishek Kapoor has come to be synonymous with strong content and well-crafted films all of which have spelled success at the box office. T-Series looks forward to backing his vision and presenting audiences with a wholesome entertainer”.
The 1984 version of the film ‘Sharaabi’ featured Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, the upcoming version is still under the process of locking the new leads. While talking about the same, Pragya Kapoor said, “We are currently in talks for the casting but it’s too soon to talk about it. A formal announcement will be made soon and it’s definitely going be special cause it’s a titular role.”
The director of the film also added, “Bhushanji and I have been talking of collaboration for quite some time now. We wanted it to be special. Sharaabi will be the right concoction of comedy, drama, and music to build this association.”
Abhishek Kapoor’s last directorial venture was fantasy-drama ‘Kedarnath’. The film featured Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan as lead roles.
