Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Kesari‘ becomes the fastest ₹100 crore grosser of 2019 and now its collection has reached to ₹105 crores in the Indian market. The film beats the next best ‘Gully Boy’ with a decent margin as both the films had an extended weekend which helped the collections. ‘Kesari’ also observed the highest opening of 2019 with ₹21.50 crores.

For Akshay Kumar, ‘Kesari’ had a second highest first-week collection after 2.0 (Hindi) which collected ₹128 crores net in the first week and his ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ stands at third with ₹94 crores net.

About the film’s box office numbers, Movie critic and biz analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Kesari puts up a wonderful total… Benefitted due to an earlier release [Thu – #Holi]… Steady on weekdays, although the biz should’ve been higher… North circuits excellent… Week 2 will give an idea of how strong it trends and it’s likely *lifetime biz*.”

Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Kesari’ narrates the story of the bravest battle ever fought in the history of world Battle of Saragarhi. It explores the story of Havildar Ishar Singh who participated in the Battle. The Battle of Saragarhi which was fought on 12 September 1897, is known as the bravest battle ever fought because it witnessed an army of 21 Sikhs soldiers of the British Indian Army against 10,000 Afghans.

he 36th Sikhs was an infantry regiment comprising only 21 Sikh soldiers. The regiment is now known as the 4th battalion of the Sikh Regiment. They were stationed at an army post and were attacked by around 10,000 Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen. It occurred in the North-West Frontier Province, now called Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.
