Akshay Kumar starrer epic war drama ‘Kesari‘ witnessed a slight drop in its second week but still managed to do satisfactory business at the Box Office India.

Not even two weeks are over and the film already has ₹131.03 crores in its account. ‘Kesari‘ has become the fastest ₹100 crore grosser of 2019.

With four new releases last week, the film still managed to stand strong and earned ₹19.15 crores in its second weekend.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, if ‘Kesari’ goes with this pace, it would soon surpass the lifetime earning of ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ and become Akshay Kumar’s second highest grossing film after ‘2.0’ (Hindi).

Taran tweeted, “#Kesari is slow but steady… Target ₹ 150 cr depends on how it fares in Week 3 when new films arrive, screens/shows get reduced and biz gets divided… [Week 2] Fri 4.45 cr, Sat 6.45 cr, Sun 8.25 cr, Mon 3.27 cr, Tue 2.75 cr. Total: ₹ 131.03 cr. India biz.”

Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Kesari’ narrates the story of the bravest battle ever fought in the history of the world, Battle of Saragarhi. It explores the story of Havildar Ishar Singh who participated in the Battle. The Battle of Saragarhi which was fought on 12 September 1897, is known as the bravest battle ever fought because it witnessed an army of 21 Sikhs soldiers of the British Indian Army against 10,000 Afghans.

he 36th Sikhs was an infantry regiment comprising only 21 Sikh soldiers. The regiment is now known as the 4th battalion of the Sikh Regiment. They were stationed at an army post and were attacked by around 10,000 Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen. It occurred in the North-West Frontier Province, now called Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.
