The official trailer of the Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Kesari‘ full of action and patriotism released on Thursday. The three-minute trailer gives you a glimpse of the bravest battle ever fought, Battle of Saragarhi. The action-packed trailer is enough to give you adrenaline rush and goosebumps. Needless to say, the trailer has increased the hunger to watch the film and witness history on screen.
The synopsis of the film goes as, “Kesari is an unbelievable true story based on the Battle of Saragarhi, 1891. Touted as one of the bravest battle ever fought, 21 courageous Sikhs countered 10,000 invaders. These saffron clad warriors fought valiantly against all odds and changed the meaning of bravery. This Holi, celebrate the spirit of bravery & sacrifice with Kesari.”
It explores the story of Havildar Ishar Singh who participated in the Battle. The Battle of Saragarhi which was fought on 12 September 1897, is known as the bravest battle ever fought because it witnessed an army of 21 Sikhs soldiers of the British Indian Army against 10,000 Afghans.
The 36th Sikhs was an infantry regiment comprising only 21 Sikh soldiers. The regiment is now known as the 4th battalion of the Sikh Regiment. They were stationed at an army post and were attacked by around 10,000 Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen. It occurred in the North-West Frontier Province, now called Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.
‘Kesari’ is helmed by Anurag Singh and bankrolled by Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Sunir Kheterpal and Co-Produced by Amar Butala. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles.
