A still from Khuda Haafiz

Vidyut Jammwal has been the face of many action films right from the film Force to the Commando series, the actor has always redefined his performances in every film and we have been in awe of these action thrillers. But many times, the action too cannot save the film if it is low on the storyline. As a form of a fictional film, we can believe the point of action hero is a one-man army but if the story is not grounded and justifies the characters, the film becomes a poor execution and the same has happened with Jammwal’s recent release Khuda Haafiz.

The story follows a Lucknow based software engineer whose wife goes missing the middle east country named Noman. The plot could have been perfect as a rescue mission and in the first half, we almost believe it to be a battle between the human traders and the good side of the society. I would have metaphorically looked at it as the fight between the social organizations that fail to undo the illegal trades which are carried out across the world whether be it of humans, weapons, or drugs.

A still from Khuda Haafiz

But the film Khuda Haafiz fails to execute the plot as an engaging mission, instead, it becomes a typical movie which we have seen a lot in many Indian movies too, hence the story seems to be outdated. The film stands out when it comes to large scale action sequences but merely does it keep you engaged with the basic structure of storytelling. Vidyut is as amazing as he is in his every movie, the actors who play the strong gang leaders of Noman, there’s no task being taken to write these characters which were supposed to be as strong ones, their Arabic accent falls apart as even a normal viewer could figure out the flaws.

Directed by Faruk Kabir, the film really stands out in the action and chase sequences but is weak when it comes to an engaging storyline.
