Black Panther was a monumental film for the Black community. The actors who worked on it brought their best game forward.  The lead star of the film, Chadwick Boseman who passed away recently, has left the crew of the film sad. After the film’s director Ryan Coogler and his co-star, Michael B. Jordan penned a note for him, now his another co-star from the film, Lupita Nyong’o has done the same.

The actress took to Instagram, to write a profound and emotional tribute for Chadwick. She called him a man whose power will “reverberate for generations”.

In the message she wrote,

“I write these words from a place of hopelessness, to honor a man who had great hope, The news of his passing is a punch to my gut every morning.”

She further described how Boseman carefully chose the words he spoke, making people feel empowered and positive. On this, Lupita wrote,

“He used his mouth to build, to edify, never to break,” she writes. “And he used is to tell some regrettably lame dad jokes.”

Lupita had starred in Black Panther as Nakia, the love interest of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. Her tribute comes 11 days after the 43-year-old actor died from colon cancer.

Earlier, in his tribute director, Ryan Coogler had written, “He made great art. Day after day, year after year,” Coogler said in a statement. “That was who he was. He was an epic firework display.”

It is touching to see Lupita’s tribute for Chadwick, the bond the actors shared reflects in her words. The actor was recently seen in a special appearance in Beyonce’s Black is King.
