The trailer shows Dhanush lands into trouble for publishing an expose. Malavika appears as the love interest of the actor in the film. The makers have decided to release Maaran in four different languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney+ Hotstar on March 11.

She will be playing the love interest of Dhanush in the film. The bubbly leading actress tropes perfectly with Raanjhanaa actor. Malavika Mohanan was recently seen in the hit 2021 film Master, co-starring actors Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead.

Directed by Navarasa famed Karthik Naren, the film chronicles the challenges faced by journalists who put their lives in danger to spill the truth out to the audience.
Produced by Sendhil Thygarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under the banners of Sathya Jyothi Films and TG Thyagarajan, the music of the film is created by GV Prakash. A graphic motion poster was also unveiled on January 15, marking the festival of Pongal.
Dhanush has various projects pipelined this year. The actor will be seen as a part of the Tamil-Telugu bilingual and Hollywood film The Gray Man, directed by the Russo Brothers. Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans also feature in the film along with Dhanush.
