Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar had already unveiled the trailer and first song ‘Chadha Sooraj’ of his upcoming film on the emergency of 1975 – ‘Indu Sarkar‘. The film serves as a highly political piece of work set in a very important era of Indian politics. The film stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Supriya Vinod, Kirti Kulhari, and Anupam Kher in integral roles. Now, the makers have released the second song ‘Yeh Awaz Hai’ from the much-awaited film.
‘Yeh Awaz Hai’ is a soft number that encapsulates the journey of Kirti Kulhari’s character. Monali Thakur has sung the song which is written by Puneet and the music is given by Anu Malik. Watch the full song here:
Indu Sarkar is reportedly based on the Emergency era, a 21-month long period, when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi unilaterally declared a state of Emergency across the country.
The film will see Supriya Vinod playing former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. The film stars Neil Nitin Mukesh in the role of Sanjay Gandhi. Kirti Kulhari, on the other hand, plays a poetess who stammers and later becomes a catalyst for a radical change. Anupam Kher’s role too looks powerful in the film and we are looking forward to seeing more of it.
The film is all set for a July 28 release.
