When work calls, but you can’t go, a feeling of sadness arises within. Malaika Arora must have felt it when she tested positive for COVID-19 on September 7. It stopped her from shooting for Sony’s dance reality show, India’s Best Dancer. She plays one of the judges on the popular show.

In her absence actor-dancer, Norah Fatehi stepped in to judge the participants on the show. Having recovered now, Malaika is going to resume work again on the show from October 5. The producer of the show, Ranjeet Thakur confirmed this news to the Mirror. Talking to the publication, he said :

“She was under home quarantine for the first 14 days. She tested negative by the third week and wanted a little more time to recuperate before returning to the set.”

Since Fatehi will be leaving the show now, Thakur says that they’ll give her a farewell gift. In the upcoming episode, all contestants will be performing her songs, as her gift. Thakur further said that they are even trying to get Fatehi to perform in the Finale of the show.

As she departs the show, Geeta Kapur, also a judge on the show, penned a heartfelt note for her, on Instagram. Geeta posted the following picture, with the note :

Before Malaika tested positive for COVID, a day before her beau, actor, Arjun Kapoor had tested positive for the same. It had led to the actor’s upcoming cross border film’s shoot with Rakul Preet Singh, getting postponed.

With Malaika’s return to the show as a judge again, the makers and she herself must be reeling with happiness. Apart from her and Geeta Kapur, choreographer Terence Lewis also judges on the show.
