Manisha Koirala‘s comeback movie ‘Dear Maya‘ where the actress plays the role of a woman who has not stepped out of her house in the past 20 years. The movie revolves around two young girls, who try to bring some spice in the boring life of Maya Devi (Manisha’s Character).
The two school girls (Anna and Ira) who are worried about Maya’s loneliness and play a prank by writing a love letter to her in the name of a secret admirer named Dev who does not exit. Maya likes reading letters and falls in love with the imaginary person. And one fine day, she leaves her home with the belongings and goes to an undisclosed place and sells her everything to be with the man who doesn’t exist.
Filled with guilt and shame, Anna decides, to tell the truth to Mayadevi but Ira stops her from doing so and Mayadevi leaves for Delhi. Filled with guilt and remorse, Anna narrates the entire incident to her parents who send her away to a boarding school to keep her away from Ira. Seven years later, Anna goes out to look for Mayadevi and Ira accompanies her despite her strong denial. Now whether they succeed in finding Mayadevi or not will only be known on June 2, when the film will hit the theatres.
‘Dear Maya’ is written and directed by Sunaina Bhatnagar, The movie is slated to release on 2 June 2017.
