Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee says that he does not feel tempted enough to do commercial movies. Manoj is very well known for playing the realistic character in the hard-hitting movies and he only does the commercial movies for maintaining the relationship. He is otherwise not tempted to do any masala entertainers.
However, he does not mind watching such movies. When asked that how does he manage both working in the commercial and the parallel cinema. Manoj says that he did not choose to do the commercial movie it all happened by accident. He says that his movie ‘Satya’ became the successful hit and there are much more movies like that though they were in the middle of the road and they were independent in the nature despite that the movie became the successful hit and that has given a market some kind of the reason to have him in those commercial movies.
He has been offered various commercial movies but he did not do all of them. He did commercial movies only when it matters of a relationship otherwise he does not feel tempted enough to do a commercial movie. When asked does he like to work in an out and out entertainer movie? Manoj says that he does not think so, however, he does not mind watching those movies. He says that featuring in such movies is something which does not happen to him so frequently.
Majoy even praised some of the makers of the movie like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rajkummar Hirani and Neeraj Pandey for their work. He says that the filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali makes a big budget movie. However, there are some of the commercial movies which he would love to do. Despite that, there are some people from that particular area which he admires a lot and they balancing it very well in their filmmaking or script writing and that is Neeraj Pandey.
He says that the mainstream of the cinema is that he is very comfortable in being part of such movies. He has worked in the movies like ‘Satya’, ‘Kaun’, ‘Zubeidaa’, ‘Pinjar’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Aligarh’ and ‘Traffic’. He feels that now the crossing 100 crore mark in the box office has become the biggest game. However, he feels that the movie ‘Newton’ has not crossed the Rs 100 crores but still that made a mark in the Bollywood town. He says that it is just a perspective and it is more based on the individual choice that what they want to see or what not it all depends on the audience.
He has almost crossed the two decades of the long journey in the Hindi cinema and he has always looked for the healthy co-existence of all kind of genres and now it is happening. Currently, he is gearing up for his upcoming movie titled ‘Rukh’ which is slated to release on October 27. About his upcoming movie, he said that it is more than a murder mystery his upcoming has an elements suspense, drama, mystery but above all the movie will be based on the father-son and mother-son relationship and that is quite fascinating in the script.
He was married to the former actress Neha, also known as the Shabana Raza and they together have a daughter named Ava Nayla and he says that he shares a great bond with her daughter. He believes that he is an actor, there is always a professional hazard of not being around her too much. Whenever he is around her she always tries to hold on to him and he always tries to hold it onto her and he feels that it is more of a friendship rather than that of s father and daughter relationship. However, he says that mother is a mother, she is a taskmaster and she is strict. Being a father he is like her friend and she knows that he is only one to forgive all her naughtiness.
