Recently, at a star-studded event, Miss India Manushi Chhillar has earned the title of Miss World 2017, which was held in China. Earlier, she was crowned Femina Miss India 2017 on June 25, 2017. Manushi is the sixth Indian women who has won the title of Miss World since Priyanka Chopra won Miss World in 2000. There were a total of 118 contestants from all over the world and they had gathered in Sayna City Arena in Sayna China on November 18. The young women Manushi is surely a stunner as she has defeated all the other contestant and win the title of Miss World 2017. She has a dream of becoming a cardiac surgeon and just to represent her country at the Miss World, Manushi took a year off from her school.
Manushi took part in the Femina Miss India 2017 competition and there she represented the state Haryana. During the competition, she was crowned the Miss Photogenic and later she went to win the competition as well. At Miss World 2017, Manushi became a semifinalist in the Top Model, People’s Choice and Multimedia competition. She was also the winner of the Beauty with a Purpose competition. Her purpose project was Project Shakti and in the campaign goal, she spread the awareness related to the menstrual hygiene. For the project, she has visited almost 20 villages and there she treated over 5000 women. Manushi was crowned Miss World 2017, on November 18, 2017, by the outgoing titleholder Stephanie Del Valle.
There are a lot of things that you need to know about the new Miss World, Manushi Chillar. Manushi was born in a Jat family who resides in Haryana. The State which is very unpopular for the worst male and female ratio in the country. Her father Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar, is a scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation, while her mother Dr. Neelam Chillar is an associate professor and along with that, she is the department head of neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.
Manushi is only 20 years old as she was born on May 14, 1997. She did her schooling at St. Thomas’ School in New Delhi and she is currently pursuing a medical degree at the Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women which is in Sonipat, Haryana. She has been trained in the Kuchipudi dance and she got herself trained under the legendary dancers Raja and Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy. She was also at the National School of Drama. She loves to go swimming in her free time. She is a big fan of Priyanka Chopra and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in medicine she got herself register for the pageant. She likes painting and she has a keen interest in the poetry also. Despite all this, she has a flair for the English language and she was the All-India CBSE topper in English when she was in class 12.
Manushi Chhillar says that she follows only one quote in her life and that is “The sky is the limit. We are limitless and so are our dreams, we must never doubt ourselves.” The girl from Haryana made all of us proud after winning the Miss World 2017.
