After registering good numbers on its first weekend, Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria, and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Marjaavaan saw a smooth sailing on its fourth day.

The film collected Rs 4.15 crore on Monday. The film that saw a collection of Rs 7.03 crore on its first day, collected Rs 7.21 crore and Rs 10.18 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The film remained steady at mass circuits and even saw good business at multiplexes outside big metros. The total collection of four days of the film at the domestic box office stands at Rs 28.75 crore.

Film trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh took to his social media account to share the figures. He wrote, #Marjaavaan has smooth sailing on Day 4… Mass circuits remain rock-steady, keeping the total healthy… Ditto for multiplexes beyond metros… Fri 7.03 cr, Sat 7.21 cr, Sun 10.18 cr, Mon 4.15 cr. Total: ₹ 28.57 cr. #India biz.”

Released on 15th November, the film has received mixed to negative reviews from the movie critics. The film has been panned for its weak script and poor direction. The only positive thing said about the film is Riteish Deishmukh’s performance as a vertically challenged antagonist.

The music of the film has been well received by the audience. The people are enjoying the songs especially Ek Toh Kam Zindagani featuring Nora Fatehi which has crossed millions of views on YouTube. Haiya Ho featuring Rakul Preet has also been doing very well. However, both the songs are recreated versions of old songs from 1980s films Janbaaz and Dayavan. The original songs Tum Hi Aana and Thodi Jagah  have become everyone’s favourite numbers.

Coming back to the movie, Marjaavaan is a powerful mass action love story with the highlight being the battle between Sidharth and Riteish’s character. While Riteish plays a dwarf villain, Sidharth plays a lover boy. The co-producer Bhushan Kumar described the film as “a violent, dramatic love story”.

Written and directed by Milap Zaveri, Marjaavaan is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, Nikkhil Advani.
