The popular medical drama ‘Sanjivani: A Medical Boon’ which aired on Star Plus from 2002 to 2005 is ready to make a comeback on the small screen with a different title. The story of the show revolved around four medical interns Dr. Juhi Singh, Dr. Rahul Mehra, Dr. Simran Chopra, and Dr. Omi Joshi. The show starred Gurdeep Kohli, Mihir Mishra, Sanjeet Bedi, Rupali Ganguly, Mohnish Bahl, and other popular small screen actors
A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror, “The show will go on air post the IPL. There have been a lot of meetings with the production house to discuss details of the new show and the channel has liked the idea. This one will be made on a big budget and will its tone will be like the earlier two shows.”
Producer Siddharth Malhotra also confirmed the news and added, “Yes, I’m working on the new show but it all depends on the channel. I am hoping to sign the contract soon. ‘Sanjivani’ is the show that made me and it’s the first show for which I was credited as the creator.”
About the cast of the new show, Siddharth chose to keep details under wrap until the official announcement. While the source revealed that the ‘Ishqbaaz’ pair Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna might play the lead couple in the show, owing to their popularity.
