Mom’ is the 300th film of Sridevi. It is thriller film which is directed by Ravi Udyawarand produced by Boney Kapoor, Sunil Manchanda, Mukesh Talreja, Naresh Agarwal and Gautam Jain. The film also stars Akshaye KhannaAbhimanyu SinghSajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui in lead roles, with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a special appearance. Music for the film is being scored by A. R. Rahman.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh says that the things that work for the film are theme, screenwriting, effective background score and skilled direction. He considers Sridevi as the lifeline of the movie and also praised the performances of other actors Nawazuddin, Akshaye, Adnan and Sajal.

Zee News has praised the casting of the movie, adding that the film does not revolve around Sridevi and that every actor and actress has an equal contribution in making it look great on the screen. It has also termed the movie to be one of the best films in the recent times.

Bollywood Hungama has rated 3.5 stars to the film. It has praised the director Ravi Udyawar who has made an astounding debut as a director with MOM. The director has truly won the hearts of everyone with the emotional connect that he brings in the film which hits hard and impacts deeply.

The Quint, on rating 3.5 stars, quoted Mom to be a Sridevi Film. Giving credit to director Ravi Udyawar for the way he harnesses the principal elements of the plot, it says that there are an emotional truth and sincerity to the film which makes it a must watch.

Bollywood Papa rated 3.5 stars to the film, stating the story as strong and gripping but not unique. It has termed ‘Mom’ as Ravi Udayavar’s best work. Apart from good cinematography, Sridevi’s beautiful and strong performance is sure enough to create a deep impact on audiences.

Deccan Chronicle has given 3 stars to the movie. While praising Sridevi’s stellar performance, it describes the climax of the film to be too dramatic for such an intense film.

Critic, Author, and Entertainment Editor Bhawana Somaaya said that the audiences will totally feel what the lead actress is feeling. They will cry when Sridevi breaks down, feel outraged when she is let down by the judiciary and feel fearful when she dives into devil’s den.

NDTV India gave 3.5 stars terming the outstanding quality of performances of the entire cast, the work of cinematographer Anay Goswami and the capability of director Ravi Udayavar to make such film, as the assets to the film.

Hindustan Times gave 3 stars to the film adding that it is one such film which is capable of grabbing the attention of the audience for 148 minutes.

Bollywood Life rated 3.5 stars while praising the scenes between Nawaz and Sridevi it said that the writers have underplayed Akshaye Khanna’s role way too much.The stunning cinematography, in the second half of the film, is what keeps us binding to the screen.

The Indian Express has rated 2 stars to the film saying that Sridevi, with her brilliant performance, tries to carry the film but the storyline that is said to be copied from Raveena Tandon’s ‘Maatr’ is feeble adding that the efficient casting is not given much to act in the film.

Filmi Beat gave 3.5 stars to the movie and stated that the film brilliantly portrays how the love of a child for a mother knows no laws adding that Sridevi’s strong screen presence coupled with acting skills doesn’t let audience’s eyes leave the screen even for a second. It termed Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a total charmer and Akshaye Khanna as someone who leaves an impression.

Times Now quoted Sridevi’s stellar act to be what establishes the crux of the film. It rated 3.5 stars to the film and remarked Akshay’s performance as spectacular.

The famous journalist, Faridoon Shahryar described Mom as the kind of film that makes you realize its brilliance in its interval only. He termed Girish Kohli, Ravi Udayavar and Kona Venkat’s writing as racy and intriguing which leaves one with a pulsating heart.

Inuth has stated Mom as the mother of all thrillers which has struck the right chord with viewers adding that power pack performance of Sridevi is the main thing which makes viewers love the movie even more.

Firstpost has described the story line of the movie as feeble while praising excellent performances of Sridevi and Nawaz adding that it’s exciting to see them sharing extraordinary screen space together.

DNA rated 3 stars to the film and described that the director has followed the concept of ‘less is more’ to an extent as he shows less for more impact adding that he is capable of not letting go the grip at all. Appreciating the fantastic performances of the star cast, it declares the movie as a must-watch.
