MostlySane’s new #RealTalkTuesday video is out on her Youtube channel. The video “What is Article 15? Ft. Ayushmann Khurana” is as real as it can be. The video was posted on June 25, 2019, and has 149k views already.

Until now, Prajakta’s #RealTalkTuesday videos have been around topics or issues that revolved around her life or something very trivial. But this time, her video talks about a very sensitive topic, with an intent to bring some change. The video features Ayushmann Khurana and the conversation is around his upcoming movie Article 15.

Prajakta describes Article 15 of the Indian Constitution for all her viewers. “Article 15 is the prohibition of discrimination of citizens on the ground of religion, caste, and race, place of birth or sex.”

Article 15 is directed by Anubhav Sinha and Ayushmann accepts that he has an interest in reading about the socio-political scenarios of India. He also accepts blatantly that he is a ‘feminist’ and that his wife changed him. The problems of the rural India where with low sex ratio there is less awareness and minimal education, Ayushmann tries to make the audience aware to stop the discrimination.

While narrating an incident, back from his theatre days, he admits that the next question that was asked after his name was his caste. It was on the basis of caste that the people decide to speak to that person. The fact that the caste system has been deeply ingrained in our mindset is what needs to be changed and is the need of the hour. He also tells Prajakta that even in 2019; there are villages that have separate wells for Dalits and the Brahmins of the village.

Ayushmann also reveals that 70% of India’s population is Dalit or people from minorities and yet they treat Brahmins as they belong to the upper caste.

The film releases on June 28, 2019, and is based on true events.
