After showing a disappointing performance at the box office on its first weekend, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty starrer Motichoor Chaknachoor did not show any improvement on its first Monday. Instead, it witnessed a considerable fall in its collection on its fourth day .
According to a report on Box Office, the film collected only Rs 20 lakh on Monday which is lower than its Friday’s collection of Rs 30 lakh. The film saw a jump in collection on Saturday and Sunday but not enough to lift the film up. The film collected Rs 50 lakh and Rs 60 lakh on its second and third day respectively.
The total collection of four days of the film at the domestic box office stands at Rs 1.60 crore.
The film’s first day collection was lower than the collections of even Hollywood releases. Ford And Ferrari collected around 75-80 lakh on the same day when Motichoor Chaknachoor collected Rs 30 lakh . The other Hollywood release Charlies Angels was poor with around 50-55 lakh on day one but still better than Motichoor Chaknachoor.
Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala that was released on 8 November is doing phenomenal business and collected Rs 2.25 crore on Monday putting its total collection of 11 days at the domestic box office at Rs 92.99 crore.
On the other hand, Sidharth Sidharth Malhotra’s Marjaavaan that was released on the same day as Motichoor Chaknachoor collected Rs 4.15 crore on Monday putting its total domestic box office of four days at Rs 28.75 crore.
Coming back to Motichoor Chaknachoor, the film follows the story of a 36 years old man who tries to find a wife and a young girl who wants to get married to a man who works abroad so that she can also live in a foreign country.
The film stars Nawazuddin Siqqiui and Athiya Shetty in lead roles while Vibha Chibber, Navni Parihar, Vivek Mishra, Karuna Pandey, Sanjeev Vats, Abhishek Rawat, Sapna Sand and Usha Nagar appear in supporting roles.
Directed by Debamitra Biswal and produced by Rajiv and Kiran Bhatia, film released on 15 November.
