TV actress Mouni Roy’s Bollywood debut has been highly awaited. It was revealed earlier that Mouni is likely to debut opposite Akshay Kumar in his next, titled ‘Gold’. Now there is a buzz that Mouni will be shooting for a long 25-day schedule with Akshay in August. Even though the film has a male dominated plot, her character will be crucial enough and looks like Mouni is all set for her big Bollywood break!
Reports suggest that she will be seen in a completely different avatar for ‘Gold’ and that may be entirely distinct from her otherwise glamorous image. The film is set in a different timeline since it showcases the journey of India winning its 1st gold medal as a free nation in the Olympics, 1948. The biographical sports drama will highlight legendary player Balbir Singh’s life and his highs and lows, which will be played by Akshay Kumar.
A source revealed about the film, “It is scripted by Rajesh Devraj and is a fictional take on the momentous game Hockey, which will feature prominently in the plot. But it is a strong human drama. ‘Gold’ follows 12 crucial years in India’s history as well.”
Talking about Mouni, she is one of the most successful television actresses and a fashionista. Her show ‘Naagin’ has the highest TRP. Mouni has also been Salman Khan’s favourite. The Sultan star too has admitted that the Naagin actress is very talented and deserves all the success.
Now we are waiting to see if she achieves the same success in Bollywood like she did on television.
