Every 90’s kid in India, grew up watching Mukesh Khanna as Shaktimaan. He was India’s first superhero and the show which ran from 1997-2005, was one of the best shows, which aired during that time. Reports are rife, that soon, the hit TV series will be turned into a film.

As per the Mirror, Mukesh Khanna is currently in the process of signing a three-film franchise deal, which will see Shaktimaan coming to the big screen. If this happens, the first will come be coming out in the latter half of 2021.

In an interview with the Mirror, Mukesh Khanna said that he is, happy with the TV series turning into a film. He further said,

“It is an evergreen and extremely contemporary story. In every decade and every century, darkness tries to prevail over light and truth, but ultimately, truth and positivity triumph over.”

The actor then stated that as an entertainer, and former star of the show, he is responsible for the content, which gets created under the Shaktimaan banner. He wants to make the show, considering the feelings of the people, who grew up watching it.

During the coronavirus induced lockdown, Shaktimaan was one of the shows, to have its re-runs on Doordarshan. The other shows were, Ramayan, Mahabharat, Buniyaad, and Flop Show.

In the TV series, Shaktimaan, Mukesh Khanna played the lead role of, photographer named Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri. He worked for a newspaper, Aaj Ki Awaaz, and was the superhero, Shaktimaan. The hit show was even translated and released in different languages.

Indeed, it is going to be nostalgic and surreal to see Shaktimaan on the big screen. The character is still wholly popular.
