After taking a year long course at Drama School Mumbai and working in veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah’s theatre group, Vivaan Parashar is all set to make his acting debut on the big screen. He will be seen in the upcoming film Mumbai Saga which stars John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Kajal Aggarwal, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, Sharman Joshi, Pankaj Tripathi, and others.

While speaking to Mumbai Mirror, the actor revealed that it was a “surreal experience” working on his first film and with such huge stars. Talking about his experience of working with the Bollywood big heroes, Parashar pointed out John Abraham was very warm. “John sir is like family for me now,” he said. “John sir, Emraan sir, Rohit Roy, Shaad Randhawa, they all made sure I was comfortable. The biggest thing I learnt from them is humility,” he told the news daily.

He also revealed that he wanted to be a cricketer when he was a kid and even took coaching from Amol Mazumdar’s father, Anil Mazumdar. “I had even got through the first round of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) camp,” he told the publication.

Vivaan Parashar is the son of film and television director Pankuj Parashar who has made films like Jalwa (1987) starring Naseeruddin Shah; ChaalBaaz (1989) starring Sridevi, Sunny Deol and RajniKanth; and television detective series Karamchand (1985) with Pankaj Kapur.

Directed by Sanjay Gupta, Mumbai Saga is a gangster drama which revolves around the changing face of Mumbai during the ‘80s and ‘90s. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anuradha Gupta and Sangeeta Ahir, the film is scheduled to be released on 19 June.
