It took three years and a long arduous process but finally, the National School Of Drama (NSD) has got its new chairperson.  Veteran Bollywood actor, Paresh Rawal is the man, who’ll head it. The post was vacant since 2017.

The news was tweeted by Union Culture Minister, Prahlad Patel. His tweet read :

After his appointment, Paresh Rawal talked to the “Press Trust Of India” and said, “It will be challenging but fun. I will do my best because this is a field I know very well.”

Nitin Tripathi, media, advisor, Ministry of Culture further revealed that Rawal is appointed for a period of 4 years.

The 65-year-old actor’s selection is no surprise considering his depth if talent and experience in the Hindi Film Industry. Parish Rawal is known for his work in films such as Woh Chokri, Sir, Hera Pheri, Sardar, and OMG- Oh My God. 

He was last seen in the film Made In India which was released last year and starred Rajkummar Rao in lead.

Indeed, his appointment will bolster the institute’s already well established reputation.
