Nawazuddin Siddiqui is undoubtedly one of the finest actors in Bollywood. We have mostly seen him in dark and complex characters but this time with Motichoor Chaknachoor he is doing a full on romantic comedy film.
Comedy is often described as the most difficult genre by many actors. But Nawazuddin recently said in an interview that it is the easiest one for him. He called comedy and tragedy the easiest genre of acting. Forcing someone to think with your performance is the toughest part, according to him.
Sharing his experience of doing comedy the actor said, “I have done comedy in around 150 plays in the past. There are various styles in comedy like Parsi comedy is one style. Folk theater has also elements of comedy. Shakespeare’s comedy of errors is there. Slapstick comedy is also there.”
“Comedy is the easiest genre for me. The two easiest things for any actor are to make someone laugh or cry. The most difficult part of acting is to make people think with your performance. Whoever says comedy is the most difficult, I think comedy and tragedy are the easiest work for any actor,” he further added
Talking about the audience and the stressful world they live in the actor said, “The audience lives in so much stress that even a small joke can make them laugh. The audience can even digest vulgar comedy which is in trend these days.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui was recently honoured with the prestigious Golden Dragon Award at Cardiff International Film Festival for excellence in cinema in the global arena.
The actor is currently awaiting for his upcoming film Motichoor Chaknachoor which follows the story of a 36 year old man (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who is looking for a wife and a young girl (Athiya Shetty) who wants to get married to a man who works abroad so that she can also live in a foreign country.
The film directed by Debamitra Biswal and produced by Rajiv and Kiran Bhatia is scheduled to be released on 15 November this year.
