Nawazuddin Siddiqui considers himself 'highest paid' actor in Bollywood!

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui says that at present he is highest paid actor in Bollywood in the terms of acting. The critically acclaimed actor Nawazudiin is very well-known for portraying the complex characters with an ease.

Recently, he appeared on the Indian TV’s show titled “Aap Ki Adalat”, which is to be telecast on Saturday. The actor said, “I am the highest paid actor in the industry as far as acting is concerned. I did not have to ask. They (filmmakers) themselves started paying me this.”

Nawazuddin made his Bollywood debut with 1999 movie “Sarfarosh”, where he played the small role. He even appeared in the Ram Gopal Varma’s 1999 movie ‘Shool’ and ‘Jungle’. Later he appeared in 2003 Rajkumar Hirani’s blockbuster movie ‘Munnabhai MBBS’. He rose the popularity from his role of Faizal Khan in the movie Gangs of Wasseypur, which is directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Atul Shukla.

Nawazuddin wonders that why the film industry is so much obsessed with Hollywood. On this, he said, “I do not know why there is an inferiority complex among us… Everybody here wants to work in Hollywood and become big. I can’t understand why we have this complex. When we watch films from a powerful country, we feel somewhat inferior. We think our films are not up to their level, but at present, we should feel proud of our films. We are making films with very good content here.”

Nawazudiin said that earlier actress Chitrangada Singh was a part of the movie, but later she walked out of the movie because the director wants more kissing scenes and she was not comfortable doing so. On this Nawazudiin said, “She left when half of the shooting was over. Actually, our director (Kushan Nandy) wanted some more kissing scenes, and she said, ‘Enough is enough, I won’t be able to do any more scenes, and left’.” Moreover, he added that initially, he felt uncomfortable while doing the kissing scenes but later he became used to it.

He even shared a funny incident while shooting for the movie “Gangs of Wasseypur” along with the actress Huma Qureshi. He said, “We had to do a romantic scene, and she started addressing me as Nawaz bhai. I went to the director Anurag Kashyap and said, ‘She is calling me Bhai, how can I do the scene?'”
