Good news for those who loved ‘The Kissing Booth’, as the sequel is set to hit the screens soon featuring its original cast including Joel Courtney, Joey King and Jacob Elordi. The film was one of Netflix‘s most streamed movies last year.
It movie is about two BFF’s Elle and Lee (portrayed by Joel and Joey) take friendship to another level until Elle falls in love with Lee’s elder brother (played by Jacob Elordi).
According to Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s content chief, speaking on the success of the first edition of the film said, “One of the most watched movies in the country, and maybe in the world”.
On breaking the news, Netflix took to their official Twitter handle and tweeted, “It’s official: @JoeyKing @Joel_Courtney & @JacobElordi will return in #TheKissingBooth2!”

The lead actor, Joel also took to his Twitter and announced, “Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! It’s official! The Kissing Booth #2 announcement”.

The first movie was an adaptation of Beth Reekles novel, which according to Variety magazine, was originally self-published on a digital platform.
The second part will be directed by Michele Weisler, who also bankrolled the first with Marcello Weisler. The pre-production of ‘The Kissing Booth 2’ is currently underway and the shooting will begin later this year.
Netflix will release the sequel in 2020.
