Ronnie Screwvala to produce Netflix’s first Indian film, starring Vicky Kaushal!

Indian entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala is all set to produce Netflix’s first Indian movie titled ‘Love Per Square Foot’. Earlier, they did two fictional series and now they are all set to venture into the Hindi Film production. The movie ‘Love Per Square Foot’ will be a Mumbai-set drama and will feature the actor Vicky Kaushal and Angira Dhar in the lead. The movie will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s production company RSVP and it will be releasing worldwide on the streaming platform in 2018.

According to the latest reports, the movie will also feature Ratna Pathak, Supriya Pathak, and Raghubir Yadav. The movie will be focused on the man and a woman and they will enter into a marriage of convenience in order to rent an apartment in a space-starved in Mumbai. Ronnie Screwvala believes that all the young audience has chosen their medium by themselves.

Moreover, he says that they love to disrupt and innovate in the space and this will be the first of its kind for South Asia. They are very much thrilled to come together with the Netflix and they break the new ground by reaching movie-lovers around the world directly by Netflix. Apart from the adaptations of Vikram Chandra’s novel with a title ‘Sacred Games’. Now, the Netflix has announced that they are collaborating with the Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment for an eight-part of the original series which will be based on the Bilal Siddiqui’s 2015 novel ‘the Bard of Blood’.

However, the Amazon is not a far behind after its first original Indian web series titled ‘Inside Edge’. Recently, the Amazin Prime video announced that they are collaborating with the comedy collective with the All India Bakchod to produce ‘The Ministry’, which is a satirical web series and the web series features Irrfan Khan. Apart from this, there are many other series which includes ‘The Family Man’, which will be produced by the Raj Nidimooru and Krishna DK and projects by the Phantom Films, Excel Entertainment, and Monsoon Shootout was directed by director Amit Kumar.

Moreover, Amazon has also clinched a deal with production houses Yash Raj Films, Dharma Productions and T-Series just to launch the Amazon Prime Music service all around the India.
