This week Samsung announced that some older versions of their Smart TVs will not support the inbuilt Netflix app from December 1st. Samsung said in their official announcement that “Due to technical limitations, Netflix will no longer be supported in 2010 and 2011 TVs beginning on December 1st, 2019. If you have one of the affected models, you may see a message on your TV indicating that Netflix will no longer be available on this device.” In a statement, a company spokesperson said these TV models were sold only in the U.S. and Canada.
Although Samsung did not mention which model will not support Netflix, they said some models from 2010 and 2011(with C or D after the screen size in the model code) will be affected by this announcement. According to Samsung, these old TVs may not support inbuilt Netflix but you can still stream Netflix on your TV. Streaming devices such as Google Chromecast and Amazon fire stick will play Netflix in these older Samsung TVs.
Netflix has also added the same information on their website with a list of devices that will support and stream Netflix app.
