Netflix to premiere A Suitable Boy on October 23; already premiered in the UK and Ireland

The director Mira Nair keenly wants to show the global audience, her latest drama series, A Suitable Boy. Till now, only the UK and Ireland audience has seen the show, which the BBC aired. Now Netflix is set to release the show globally on October 23.

It is based on the author, Vikram Seth’s novel of the same name. While it is set in the newly independent India of 1951. The story of the show is intriguing, as it is about a girl named Lata, whose mother wants her to get married. She is conflicted between obeying her family and following her own heart. In the process, she romances with three different men, who try to win her heart, resulting in love and heartache.

On the other hand, is the story of Maan Kapoor (Ishaan Khatter), a charming young man, who is lacking a purpose in life, and whose romantic endeavors, threaten to damage his father’s political career. The show features Lata and Maan’s coming of age story, along with India’s. Young Independent India is looking to vote for the first time, in their first democratic general election.

A star-studded cast is compiled for the show. Ishaan Khatter, Tanya Maniktala, Tabu, Ram Kapoor, and Rasika Duggal among others are starring in the show.
