“‘Lipstick Under My Burkha” is an upcoming Indian film made in Hindi. The film is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and produced by Prakash Jha. The movie stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumra in the lead along with Sushant Singh and Vikram Massey. In January 2017, the Central Board of Film Certification refused to certify the film, stating that “The story is lady oriented, their fantasy above life.”

As soon as the makers have unveils the poster. The poster instantly went viral on the internet. The poster has a woman raising her middle finger and made an extremely strong statement. On this, Central Board of Film Certification Chief Pahlaj Nihalani said, “Showing the middle finger is impolite in any society. And it should be discouraged.” Slamming film associations for clearing the poster, he said, “Maybe…they’re playing the pseudo-liberal card to appear fashionable.”
