Pierre Morel, the director of the 2008 blockbuster action film ‘Taken’ is all set to create another action film. ‘The Blacksmith’ starring Nick Jonas and veteran actor Lawrence Fishburne.
The film is based on the critically acclaimed 2011 graphic novel from Kickstart comics by Mark Evans and Richard Sparkman.
Nick will play the role of Wes Loomis, a blacksmith and the intelligence community’s go to weapon’s expert. Fishburne will portray the role of his mentor Mather.
Search for the female character, Hazlitt is still going on and will be announced later. The production will start in late 2020.

When his clandestine lab is destroyed and his colleagues murdered, Wes must go on the run with only his unique set of technological skills and the help of a brilliant, young CIA analyst Noelle Hazlitt to keep him alive.
“They seek out Mather (Fishburne) a retired blacksmith and Wes’ mentor, to guide them on a journey that keeps this improbable pair one step ahead of their pursuers”.
Jon Shestack will produce the film along with Kickstart Productions’ Jason Netter and Jeremy Stein.
AGC Studios chairman and CEO, Stuart Ford will executively produce the film with Linda McDonough, Samantha Shear and Bob Sobhani.
