Nushratt Bharrucha ventures into horror genre with next film Chhorii; remake of Marathi horror feature Lapachhapi


After starring in films which have been mainly light hearted, actress Nushratt Bharuccha is next starring in a horror film. Titled Chhorii the film is going to be the remake of the Marathi film, Lapachhapi which Vishal Furia directed.

The Hindi remake is also going to be helmed by him while Crypt Tv, Abundantia and T-series are serving as the producers to it. Commencing the shooting of the film in Madhya Pradesh, the makers conducted a mahurat puja on the sets.

The month of December is going to see the entire team, shooting the film in Madhya Pradesh. Though the entire film is not going to be shot there alone. Mumbai is the place, for shooting its final schedule.

Apart from Nushrat, the film also stars Mita Vasisht, Rajesh Jais and Saurabh Goyal in lead roles. While the 2017 Marathi film starred Pooja Sawant, Usha Naik, Vikram Gaikwad and Anil Gawas in the lead roles.

Story of the film is about a young couple who are forced to take shelter in a home, situated in the sugarcane fields of a village. For staying true to this story, shooting is going to be done in the interiors of Madhya Pradesh. Even sets are built for creating the horror look of the film palpable.

All precautions from the COVID-19 virus is set in place on the film’s sets. Constant temperature checks and sanitation methods are incorporated by the film’s producers.

Meanwhile Nushratt Bharuccha also has Omung Kumar’s Janhit Mein Jaari for which she will start shooting in March 2021. She was most recently seen alongside Rajkummar Rao in Chhalaang which released on Amazon Prime Video.
