Diljit Dosanjh To Portray Punjabi Singer Amar Singh Chamkila For Biopic
Diljit Dosanjh is set to feature as popular singer Amar Singh Chamkila in his upcoming venture. Imitiaz Ali’s directorial biopic is set to begin its shoot soon. Meanwhile, Parineeti Chopra will essay the character of his wife, Amarjot Kaur. The biopic will depict how the popular singer along with his musical band was assassinated on March 8, 1988.
Ever since the announcement of the film, Diljit fans are super excited to witness him on the big screens. The actor/singer recently confirmed that the leading lady of the film is none other than Parineeti Chopra.
A close source to the development also revealed that Parineeti will portray the role of Chamkila’s wife and she is set to start her journey in the biopic from December 11.
Reportedly, Diljit and Parineeti have attended several workshops to understand the characters in detail.

While Parineeti Chopra is basking in the success of Uunchai, Diljit Dosanjh is busy with his ongoing musical tour Born To Shine. He will soon be resuming the shoot for Imtiaz Ali’s directorial.
Diljit was last seen in the Netflix drama Jogi, which has done wonders in the OTT world. Jogi explores the Sikh community riots in Delhi after the assassination of former PM Indira Gandhi in 1984. The film showcased how the violence erupted in the national capital and other parts of the country in which over 3,000 Sikhs were killed across India.
The actor was immensely appreciated for his great acting and the character he portrayed in Jogi.
