On Tuesday evening the YouTube channel of T-Series uploaded a 22 seconds long clip of new song Dilbara from Pati Patni Aur Woh. The visual shows a rather remorseful Kartik Aaryan singing the song. The question here is whether this remorse stems from the character’s pain or is it because of the backlash that the movie faced since its trailer launch about the marital rape joke?

According to a report in Mid-Day,the makers of the upcoming film have reshot the entire song in order to make it more sensitive. The whole process was done in less than 24 hours and a few scenes have been added in the song that show Kartik Aaryan’s character Chintu Tyagi repenting for hurting the feelings of Vedika Tyagi and Tapasya Singh played by Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday respectively.

The producer of the film Juno Chopra, who wrapped up the shoot of the track on Sunday, told the daily, “When I saw the song at the edit table, I was sure that we needed to introduce the pain that Chintu Tyagi [Aaryan’s character] was feeling. What he had done to the two women caused him anguish. The film has so much more than comedy; we needed to focus on the heart. So, in less than 24 hours, we turned the song around. Vijay Ganguly [choreographer] and Mani Kandan [cinematographer] changed the energy of the track.”

Kartik Aaryan has made sexist monologue his thing! Movie after movie his fans wait for the sexist monologue that he delivers in a single breath. This time too he had a monologue but it didn’t go down well with his fans.

The monologue was about the lack of sex in Chintu Tyagi’s life but it crossed the lines of misogyny when he goes too far and makes a joke on marital rape. He says, “Biwi se sex maang lein, toh hum bhikaari. Biwi ko sex mana kar dein, toh hum atyachaari aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke uss se sex haasil kar lein na toh balaatkaari bhi hum hain.” (If we ask the wife for sex, we are beggars. If we say no to the wife for sex we are tormentors and if somehow we manage to get sex from her we are rapists).

Pati Patni Aur Woh is a remake of  Chopra’s grandfather BR Chopra’s 1978 film of the same name that starred veteran actor Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha, and Ranjita Kaur in the lead roles.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film is slated to release on 6 December when the audience will decide if they are convinced with dilbar Kartik’s face?
