Paytm has officially taken another big step towards their main goal of becoming the one and only major connection between consumers and all of their entertainment/movie ticketing requirements. This milestone was reached when Paytm acquired TicketNew, one of the major online ticketing platforms operated by Orbgen Technologies Private Limited, Chennai.

Madhur Deora, the Chief Financial Officer of Paytm, has also given an official statement regarding this latest partnership with Orbgen Technologies. In his declaration, he announced that he wanted to see Paytm’s future as that of the leading entertainment platform in every city in India. Paytm intends to cater to not only the financial aspect of their consumers’ rights, but also provide all of them with a direct connection with as many cinema partners as possible. Madhur also added that the main reason behind Paytm striking a deal with TicketNew was that the latter had a profitable business running in South India, and their mindset had been at par with that of Paytm’s.

This partnership with Paytm is expected to connect TicketNew, and their partner cinemas, with all of the 300 million customers of Paytm, thereby benefiting both the companies and increasing their occupancy and revenues. With this accession, Paytm has officially come closer to their goal of becoming the “Entertainment No. 1” player than ever before. In addition to this, Paytm has also officially confirmed their latest partnership with SPI Cinemas as well, thereby owning key theatres in Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad, like Le Rêve, The Cinema, and Sathyam Cinemas.
