Prateik Babbar will be seen in negative role in Rajinikanth’s trilingual film ‘Darbar’

Grey shade characters work well for me: Prateik!

Bollywood actor Prateik Babbar who started his career with a supporting role in Aamir Khan’s ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ has more negative roles in his career than positive ones. Once again the actor is returning in his bad boy avatar in Rajinikanth starrer ‘Darbar’. The film is likely to release on Pongal next year.

A source close to the development informed, “Murugadoss was impressed by Prateik in ‘Baaghi 2’ and decided to cast him. He plays the antagonist’s son and will feature in important scenes with Rajini. After Mumbai, the team heads to Tamil Nadu for the remaining portions.”

Rajinikanth will be seen as a cop again in the Hindi-Tamil-Telugu trilingual. Babbar will join the shoot on Sunday.

Confirming the news himself, Prateik stated, “It has been my aspiration to share screen space with a legend like Rajinikanth sir. I can’t wait to meet him and observe him on set. I have been appreciated for characters with grey shades and I am investing my 200 percent in this role because it’s an opportunity of a lifetime.”

According to the source, the actor is required to gain more muscle for the part and will have to learn Tamil and Telugu.

AR Murugadoss shared the first look of the film ‘Darbar’ and captioned it, “Here you go guys!!! The first look of our very own Thalaivar in #Darbar”.
