The Mumbai police of Economic Offences Wing yesterday filed a 176-page long charge sheet against a Hindi film producer, Prernaa Arora who is known for producing films like ‘Padman‘ and ‘Rustom’. For committing a fraud of ₹31 crores along with Arjun N Kapoor and Pratima Arora, by Vashu Bhagnani.

In between 2016-2018, Prernaa with the owner of KriArj (Arjun N Kapoor), had taken a loan of ₹31 crores under the name of the name of her mother to produce ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Padman’. The producer borrowed the money for ‘Kedarnath’ in spite of the fact that the rights of the film belonged to some other. Both the films did well at the box office.

Prernaa had also taken a loan of ₹9 crores for a property in Pali Hill, Mumbai from Vashu Bhagnani. When Bhagnani demanded the money back, the producer started to avoid his calls and that’s when Bhagnani’s manager filed a lawsuit against Arora with Mumbai Police Economic Offences Wing.

According to the Mumbai Police, 25 people have been identified as the witnesses in the case. Last December, the producer was arrested for the same offences. Prernaa’s mother had escaped as the loan was under her name. The Police had avoided making any comment as the investigations are still going on.
