Hollywood film director Quentin Tarantino screened the documentary film QT8: The First Eight on Friday (14th December) at a packed house at the Jerusalem Cinematheque in Jerusalem, Israel, according to a report by The Times of Israel

It is based on his career and traces the journey of his eight films through interviews of several actors, he has worked with including Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell and Diane Kruger among others.

Tarantino was present at the screening with his Israeli wife, Daniella Pick, and said it was his first time seeing the documentary in a “theater situation” with an audience. He greeted the crowd with words like Shalom (peace) and Ma Nishma (how are you?).

Noa Regev, the director of the Cinematheque presented a Hebrew poster to Tarantino of Reservoir Dogs, his 1992 debut film.

The 2019 documentary is directed by Tara Woods and examines Tarantino’s first eight films, from Reservoir Dogs to The Hateful Eight. Tarantino has famously announced that he will only make ten films and retire after that.

His most recent film, the period drama Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, had released earlier this month. It was a critical and commercial success.

Woods did not interview Tarantino himself but the actors and producers whom he has collaborated multiple times. The Pulp Fiction director also addresses his relationship with disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein who had backed most of his films. Tarantino says in the interview that he was aware of Weinstein’s sexual abuses and he should have done more to help people.
