R. Madhvan’s directorial biopic Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is set to screen at the 75th Cannes Film Festival. The festival will take place between May 17 to 25. Madhvan’s starrer film will get its red carpet world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on May 19.
R. Madhvan Shares His Excitement On Instagram: Says, “Did not imagine this”
The actor-cum-director R. Madhvan shared his excitement towards the announcement of his film to get premiered at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.
The actor took to Instagram and wrote, “ROCKETRY WORLD PREMIERE AT CANNES. May 19 at 9 pm. Did not imagine this when we began this journey. The only objective was to tell the story of Shri Nambi Narayanan. .. that desire has brought us a long way with all your blessings and the grace of God.” Check out his latest post.
Written and directed by R. Madhvan, the film will release in English, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. It marks the directorial debut of Madhavan, who will also play the protagonist in the film.

Based on the true events from the life of former ISRO aerospace engineer Nambi Narayan, who was also accused of espionage, the film marks R. Madhvan’s directorial debut in the filmland. He will be portraying the titular role of Nambi Narayan.

PM Modi replied to R. Madhvan’s tweet and spoke about the ‘important topic’ the film dives into. “Happy to have met you and the brilliant Nambi Narayanan Ji. This film covers an important topic, which more people must know about. Our scientists and technicians have made great sacrifices for our country, glimpses of which I could see in the clips of Rocketry,” wrote the PM.
India’s inclusion as the Country of Honour at the 75th Cannes Film Festival is momentous. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is set to premiere at the Palais des Festivals. The film is slated to hit the theatres on July 1, 2022.
