Film actors are doing everything to do quality work all across world even if that includes moving to online streaming platforms. While the phenomenon has been there for sometime in Hollywood, the trend is gradually gaining momentum in India. With the mainstream actors like Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Bajpayee, Emraan Hashmi and others doing work for OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime, it seems the trend will only rise in the coming times.
While some stars see future in the online streaming platforms, at the same time there some mainstream actors who have explicitly expressed their interest of not going towards online platforms. One such star is Ranbir Kapoor who gave blockbuster Sanju last year.
According to media reports, Ranbir has clarified to filmmakers that he is not interested in doing work for online streaming platforms and therefore such projects should not be offered to him. He reportedly did not look at the scripts offered to him for web content.
Recently, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor’s girlfriend, also gave such statement. But she did not say she does not want to work on digital platforms but said she does not have dates for a few years.
According to reports, Ranbir Kapoor wants to focus on the big screen and wants to give theatrical entertainment to his fans. He even thinks that big actors should concentrate on this medium only.
