Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Raj Kumar Rao, Varun Dhawan, Ekta Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Rohit Shetty and many more landed in Delhi yesterday to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting was held weeks after the PM met Bollywood producers and discussed issues faced by the industry, which led to the reduction in GST on film tickets by the government.

The meeting’s agenda was not disclosed by the source. “There is a meeting happening with PM today with people from the film industry, including actors,” a source close to the development told PTI.

The representatives from the industry had a mix of actors and directors which were chosen by Director Karan Johar, the source added.

The Bollywood delegation also included Sidharth Malhotra, Producer Mahaveer Jain, Aayushman Khurana, and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.

Varun Dhawan posted a picture of himself with a caption, “Was an honor to meet and interact with the honorable prime minister @narendramodi. Very grateful to him for the reduction of GST which will be a big boost to the economics of our film industry. He was very receptive about our concerns which were honestly very cool. Ps- I missed eye contact here cause I was taking facing ???? #jaihind”.
