Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is overwhelmed and humbled by the response received by the trailer of his upcoming Indian period drama movie titled ‘Padmavati‘. The movie features Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Ranveer Singh in the lead. The movie which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

On Tuesday, Ranveer wrote an open letter on his Twitter account, where the actor has thanked everyone, his friends, media and the audience for the great response to the movie. He said that he is thankful to each and every one for being so generous and showering love and appreciation to the trailer of the movie. He says that to witness the avalanche of praise all across the board is very unprecedented and overwhelming and it is very rare and very humbling.

He calls the director of the movie Sanjay Leela Bhansali as the crazy genius and a master of a craftsman. He says that it all the result of the blood, sweat, and tears that the whole team of ‘Padmavati’ poured in the movie. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has sacrificed a lot for the movie and he has even suffered a lot and the success of the trailer truly goes to him. Ranveer says that Sanjay has a vision of a deeply passionate artist and he has bared his infinite soul on celluloid.

Ranveer feels very blessed that he got the privilege of being directed by him. He learns a lot of things from him and he improved every day. He is still shooting for the period drama and he guarantees that whatever is shown in the trailer of the movie is just a fraction of what the has to offer.

The movie will be based on the life of the beautiful Rani Padmini of Chittor and the ruthless Alauddin Khilji and on his attempts to get the Rani. However, the movie ‘Padmavati’ is based on the 14th century. The ruler Alauddin Khilji fell in love with the Rani Padmini. She chooses her honor over her life and she along with the other women of Chittor killed themselves by leaping into a fire and this practice usually calls as a ‘Jauhar.’

The movie ‘Padmavati’ is all set to release on December 1, 2017.
