Ranveer Singh is all set to play Kapil Dev in a film based on the World Cup victory in 1983, which will be directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Anurag Kashyap. Actor is only 6 years old in the industry and has created a niche for himself in the B-Town. He is going places both literally and other wise.
Earlier, Arjun Kapoor had been considered to play the part. However, according to the latest reports, Ranveer Singh has been roped in for the role. The movie will show Ranveer in a never seen before avatar and will be a great break from the period dramas he has been doing.
The movie will be based on the life of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. The movie will not only be focusing on the cricketer’s life but also will focus on the 1983 World Cup, where Team India won the cup under Dev’s captaincy. However, there is no official announcement yet.
While, Ranveer Singh will also be seen playing the role of ‘Alauddin Khilji’ in his upcoming movie”Padmavati“, which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The movie also features Deepika Padukone in the title role as ‘Rani Padmini’, alongside Shahid Kapoor and Aditi Rao Hydari.
