Ranveer Singh : Took a lot of time to sign ‘Padmavati’!

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh says that he took a lot of time to sign his upcoming Indian period drama movie titled ‘Padmavati‘. The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The movie features Deepika Padukone in the title role as Rani Padmini, alongside Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari.

Ranveer reveals that he is very much scared for his upcoming movie release and he even reveals that he took a lot of time to say yes to play the role of an antagonist Alauddin Khilji. However, Ranveer says that he is playing the role of an anti-hero. He feels that he will be able to assess his character only after he will see the movie. He says that it is a very risky move for him and that is the main reason why he took so long to sign the movie.

He says that for an actor to make a choice like this and at this stage is dicey and about the character, he says that it is despicable. However, he says that one of the senior actors from the Bollywood town has adviced him to be very careful and she even said that the Indian audience is naive. If the audience will love the character then that love will automatically transfer to that actor who has actually played the role. He feels that in that case if the audience will hate his character then the hate will transfer to him.

He also talked about the director of the movie Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he said that Sanjay is indebted to him. Ranveer says that he has to play the negative character then he will only be doing with the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Moreover, he said that he can not say no to him. He believes that if he has any standing then it is because of his movies.

Earlier, actor Ranveer Singh did a movie ‘Goliyan Ki Raasleela – Ram Leela’ with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and he did that movie when his career was not going well. Later, he did a movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’, where he played the role of a Bajirao and he says that the character he played in the movie was much ahead of his years. He feels that he is an indebted to him as an artist because he helped him in pushing his boundaries and got the best out of him.
